Some years the colours in the autumn trees are so vibrant it seems as if the whole forest is on fire. Even the light is affected by their glow. My Mother grew up on the prairies and often talked about seeing pictures of these colours but always thought that they weren’t real, until she moved here and saw for herself. She always enjoyed a car ride to see this beauty. I did sketches and small paintings at Lake of Two Rivers in Algonquin Park, Ontario to use as reference for this painting.
